LEADERSHIP RETREAT

Ty and I spent an AMAZING weekend at the Warner's lake house for our leadership retreat. All I can say is what a great weekend! We had a blast getting to know other leaders and are on fire about this upcoming school year. We definitely had a diverse group there, but I'm telling you we all had an awesome time together. God was definitely with us, in our hearts, and working through us on this trip. We stayed up talking, playing card games (Donna and Ann, 99 was the best! I will teach my girlfriends on our annual girls trip in November), water skiing & tubing (I am sore from head to toe), watching Michael Phelps in the Olympics, and just spent time relaxing together! I had a wonderful time, and looking forward to getting together again soon! The group discussed a book called, Crazy Love by Francis Chang, and I strongly recommend it to all of you! The introduction reads like this, "It's crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss." I'm still in the process of reading it, but I realize what I thought I was doing in my life to be wholeheartedly committed and faithful in my walk with Christ- I'm doing it all wrong! Reading this book will shock your world, as it did mine, but it's something I think we all need to read and truly open our hearts to because if you think you are walking your walk faithfully read this book and you will be surprised how much stronger you will be when you finish. All I can say is God is Good!
