Austin's first day of preschool was a piece of cake. He LOVED it! I am so glad that he enjoys his teachers and new buddies. I had myself worried almost sick starting him in preschool so early, but I am so glad that I didn't let my nerves get the best of me. Austin was brave when we arrived to his classroom. He walked right in like a big boy and started playing and running around. I prepared myself for drama, you know when the mama leaves the child- the child screams and cries, no not my child. I was devastated when he could careless if I was there or not. I couldn't believe it, but happy at the same time that he did so well. I went to yoga class and couldn't concentrate due to worrying about how Austin was doing, and by the way, did I mention I left ALL Ty's numbers, my mom's home number, cell, my dad's cell, work number and my sister, Leigh Ann's cell number with the teachers in case they couldn't reach me. One of Austin's teachers, Ms. Alice, was so sweet to me. She ensured me that Austin was going to be ok and they would call me if they needed ANYTHING. Then, I reminded her that he needs help climbing up sliding board, he loves to sing and dance, "lala" means juice, and "baby" means blankee and pacifier. And I think I reminded her AGAIN to call me if anything happened to my little guy, and I would be back right at pickup time or a few minutes before. Ms. Alice just smiled! Nana and Emily wanted to go with me to pickup Austin. Emily had a new dress she wanted to wear and new shoes for Austin's BIG DAY. She was cute! We walk in his classroom and Austin instantly saw Emily and was extremely EXCITED as he ran right up to her. Ok, I'm thinking they are close he was excited to see her...he'll come to me next. Nope, Austin then went to Nana begging for cheese and lala (juice). I could've CRIED!!! He did come to me next with lots of hugs and kisses. Ms. Alice said that Austin did fantastic in class. He played with all the children and had a blast on the playground. She said he climbed up the baby slide by himself and didn't fall. She also said that during music time Austin danced and imitated everything the teachers did. He is a DANCING MACHINE! I think Austin enjoys school because he grabs his bookbag and walks towards the door and says, "go bye-bye" too cute!
