I am happy to say that Austin LOVES going to school. He gets excited every Tuesday and Thursday mornings when we talk about getting ready to go to school. He gets so excited that he immediately grabs his book bag, walks to the door and says, "Bye-bye Mama!" or "Go! Mama Go" and this is nonstop until we are in the car! When we arrive at school, he usually likes for me to carry him in while he greets everyone we walk past with a big smile, wave, and says "hey" or "bye-bye". His friendlyness is so contagious! Most of the teachers know us now because he is so friendly that they have to stop and speak to him. Other mornings he prefers walking in school holding my hand and he carries his book bag- actually he drags it down the hall to his classroom. I think he is so cute when he tries to act like a big boy. This morning we pulled up to his school, I was surprised how anxious he was to get out of our car. He threw his blankee and baby (pacifier) across the seat, squirmed around trying to unbuckle himself from his car seat, pointed to window screamed "out" and "bye-bye", and then, pitched a fit because I wasn't fast enough getting him out of the car. I had to laugh at him because he was hilarious! It makes me feel good knowing that Austin enjoys going to school as much as he does. I think he enjoys playing with his buddies, I know he adores his teachers and they adore him. So, I feel really good about him going to preschool, but a little sad that he is growing up so fast! Ms. Sharon, Austin head teacher, informed me the month of September the class worked on learning the color blue, which Austin can say. (I am so proud!) She also said that they have learned the classroom schedule and adjusting extremely well. During the morning, they march in a circle on ABC rug while his teachers sing the ABC's, dance to music, sing "Bop until you drop" and "Freeze" songs, read books, have snack with drink and go to the playground which is Austin's favorite! He must have ball out there because he is covered in sand from head to toe. Seriously, I don't know what he does on the playground, but he plays pretty darn hard. I can't get over how much sand he has in his hair, face, ears, up his nose, clothes, diaper(?), and shoes. When I pick him up I'll ask him how he got so dirty and he gives me this grin like you don't want to know. This month Ms. Sharon said they are going to learn color orange and fire safty. Sounds fun!
